She could feel the wrongness in the air—a pressure behind her sternum, a hum in the teeth. "Yuzu," she whispered, not turning her head. "Something's already here." A low, wet laugh echoed from the undergrowth, and the leaves around them began to curl inward, as if the island itself were closing its fist. Kōjō grinned, sharp and white, and leapt.
